Transport: Only one way in & out= route 80, one of the most scenic drives ever

- Secluded area within the mountains- not very accessible in winter
- Fill up gas before heading here- self serve station didn’t have unleaded 91
ACCOMADATION and FOOD
- 1 Hermitage– bougie hotel $$$$
- DO NOT go to here for dinner
- Can park in the back lot even if not staying there
- Laundry room in the hotel accessible via rear entrance- takes credit cards
- Sir Edmund Hillary Cafe & Bar– breakfast & lunch with scenic outdoor spot
- 2 “Mt cook Lodge” – much more affordable- next door to hermitage
- Chamois bar & grill: BEST spot for dinner, great food with amazing views
- Can use hermitage for laundry
- 3 White horse hill campground

World famous and the reason everyone comes to Mt Cook
- Visitors center- right next to Hermitage
- Mt cook scenic helicopter flight
- Tasman Glacier Viewpoint: AllTrails
- 10min drive from Mt cook village
- Trailhead from parking lot- very short, easy hike
- Parallel to Hooker Valley track on the other side of the Mt cook range.
Other
- Lake Pukaki Viewpoint:
- Only 1hr from Mt cook but is on the way- Definitely worth the pitstop
- Scenic lake views and Lupin flowers when in season.
