Hooker Valley Track
Parking& Trailhead:
- Next to White Horse Hill Campground- Mt Cook
- Fills up by midday so GO EARLY
- Parking is FREE
FYI
- MUST GO EARLY- gets super packed but pretty empty in the morning
- 3 suspension bridges en route to beautiful lake
- Cold in AM before sun gets over mountains
- Hike at times is almost like a wind tunnel- hold onto your phone (especially on bridges)
THE HIKE
- Lake Müller Lookout: first viewpoint, half step off path, well labeled
- BEST lookout AFTER first bridge – not labeled.
- Stairs on left hand side can be very easy to pass
- If you try to stop there on the return it’ll be crowded by then
- Instagram boardwalk halfway between 2nd and 3rd bridge
- Finishes at Hooker Glacial Lake- beautiful open views
