• 3am-7am requires sunrise reservation  
• Entrance Fee/National park pass -Can get backed up and TAKE FOREVER 
• Off hours entrance operated by machine (scans national park pass)
• Other East side entrance listed is completely separate on road to Hana
  • Does not connect to summit

• Best place for a sunset but get there super early- traffic from entrance 
• Sunset can get freezing

Summit Sunrise 

• Summit Sunrise info : reservations 60 days in advance  Reservations $1 
  • Can enter beginning at 3am- Tickets are per vehicle not per person  
  • Release some 48hrs before  
  • Summit parking just past visitor center  
• Expensive last minute version: Haleakala Sunrise Tour $250 a person  
  • Hotel Pickup 2-330am Return 10-1130am 
  • Includes Breakfast post sunrise

Sliding Sands Trail

• Alltrails
• Trailhead: Visitor center     
• Hard, 11miles. Takes roughly 6hrs. No permit needed  
• Hikes into a crater. Gets really hot and then cold so pack accordingly
