13. Jökulsárlón & Black Diamond Beach

- One of the Best glacier formations in Iceland
- Glacier lagoon connects to black diamond beach
- Two sides Separated by a bridge overhead
- Can walk underneath to both sides
- Parking lots on both sides
- Payment machine on glacier side (next to bathrooms)
Glacier side- Jökulsárlón
- Awesome scenery- Walking path goes up and around lagoon
- No real defined best spot- just explore
- Glacier side parking has all the action: bathrooms, tour groups, food trucks
- Look for seals!
- Then walk over to beach side
Beach side- Black Diamond
- “Black diamond” from icebergs washing ashore
- Cool, but not as scenic as glacier side
BEST ACCOMADATION
- Best nearby hotel: Hótel Jökulsarlon
- Little pricey but worth every penny
- Northern lights wakeup, hot tubs, sauna, great food, honestly 10/10
